Sudhir Sangwan CJP core team member of Haryana: Once worked at a medical store for ₹ 200; SHO Pepsu became famous in ‘Masla Legal Hai’ web-series




Apart from Abhijeet Deepke, Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), another face was the most discussed during the students’ demonstration at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. This was the face of actor Sudhir Sangwan, resident of Charkhi Dadri, Haryana. Sudhir has appeared in Netflix’s popular web series ‘Maamla Legal Hai’, film ‘RAAKH’ and many OTT projects. He got recognition from SHO Pepsu in the legal series. Along with acting, these days he is also a member of the founding core team of CJP. Emerging from the small village of Charkhi Dadri, Sudhir created his own identity on the basis of struggle. Sudhir, who comes from a farmer family, worked as a medical store helper for Rs 200 during times of financial crisis. After this he also worked as a SIM card hawker, DJ, transport company employee and in the banking sector. Dainik Bhaskar talked to Sudhir Sangwan and learned the entire story of his journey from village to OTT and joining CJP. Sudhir Sangwan, who started his own startup from working in banks, was born on 9 November 1988 in a farmer family of Chappar village in Charkhi Dadri district of Haryana. Did his early education from the village government school. Later, he joined theater while studying in a boarding school in Rajasthan. Due to financial constraints, I had to leave my graduation in the government college of Bhiwani midway. To take care of the responsibilities of the family, he started working at an early age. First of all, he became a helper at a medical store, where he got ₹ 200 per day. To earn extra money, he used to play DJ at night and also do photography. In 2006, he became an assistant in a transport company at a salary of ₹ 3,500 per month. After two years, he became a supervisor in a foreign cargo company and worked till 2010. After this he entered the banking sector as a cashier in HDFC Bank. In 2016, he became branch manager in Kotak Mahindra Bank. In the same year, he became Assistant Vice President (AVP) in Equitus Bank, where his salary reached ₹ 1.24 lakh per month. Along with the job, he started loan service startups named MoneyMind.com and LoanWon.com. Launched MyMistri.com in 2019, which was later sold for around ₹40 lakh. After this, he started a property startup named ‘Turant Deal’ and started ZORKA Grocery during the Corona period, but due to losses, both the businesses had to be closed. Sudhir Sangwan, who came into acting line in 2019, started with Haryanvi web series, says that his acting career started after meeting filmmaker Rahul Dahiya in 2019. Got my first opportunity in the Haryanvi web series ‘Virodh’. After this, he played different characters in web series like ‘Mayajaal’, ‘Byah Ke Laddu’, ‘Akhaada’ and ‘Scam’. Gave more than 100 auditions in Mumbai. He got most of the work through online auditions. He gained recognition across the country for his role as SHO Jaywant Pepsu in Netflix’s ‘Mamala Legal Hai’. Also seen with Manoj Bajpayee in the advertising campaign of Amazon Prime Video. His film ‘Rakh’ has been released on Amazon Prime Video. Joined the Anna movement. Sudhir, associated with the CJP movement, said that he got involved in social activities during the Anna movement of 2011. During this time he met Lokesh of Bhiwani. Later both of them started an NGO named Stand with Nature. Joined the movement that started on social media after the discussion of the word ‘cockroach’ in the Supreme Court. Being active on education and public interest issues, he started taking part in CJP’s campaign. Participated in the first major demonstration held at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on 6 June. That day, he himself came forward and took charge of the arrangements to control the crowd. During the protest it was not clear where to place the big speaker. When he could not find a place among the crowd, he carried the speaker on his shoulder and kept roaming among the people. During this time, his pictures and videos went viral on social media. CJP chief Ashutosh Ranka introduced him from the stage in the programs at Jaipur on 15th June and Jantar Mantar on 20th June. After this he was made a member of the founding core team of CJP. CJP Sangwan, who is preparing teams across the country, said that the organization is expanding its team across the country. There are preparations to run a campaign on issues of education, employment and public interest. Work is being done to strengthen the units of the organization in different states. Along with social media, programs and public relations campaigns will also be conducted at the grassroots level.
