India has got its fourth medal in weightlifting. Dnyaneshwari lifted 85 kg in her second attempt and 88 kg in her third attempt. Didih easily broke Dnyaneshwari’s record. He created a new Commonwealth record by lifting 90 kg in his second attempt and then 93 kg.

Earlier on Sunday, Mirabai Chanu had succeeded in winning gold medal for India in weightlifting. Apart from this, Rishikant Singh and Raja Muthupandi also brought glory to India by winning silver medals. Jhandu Kumar won India’s first medal by lifting 190 kg in the men’s heavyweight para powerlifting category.

Pratistha Samanta missed out on medal

Indian gymnast Pratistha Samantha came very close to winning a medal in the Commonwealth Games and missed it and finished sixth in the women’s vault final event. He had secured seventh place for this final match.

He performed very well in the finals, where he got a score of 12.700 in his first attempt and 12.666 in his second attempt. Combining these two attempts his average score was 12.683. Although his performance was quite brilliant, but he was a little short of points to make it to the medal table (top-3) and win a medal for India.
