Miscreants carried out an audacious incident late on Friday night in Indiranagar area of the capital Lucknow. The miscreants entered the house of grocery businessman Umesh Chandra, living near Bajrang intersection of Amrai village, at around 2 o’clock in the night. The miscreants who entered with the intention of looting attacked the entire family with iron rods and sticks.
After entering the house, the miscreants beat the businessman, his wife and daughter till they were dead and took away the cash and jewelery kept in the house and went away. All three seriously injured people have been admitted to the hospital, where their condition remains critical.

Deepak, son of the victim businessman, says that sister Seema had come only two days ago. On Friday night, she was sleeping in the wardrobe room, while her parents were in the outside room. At around 2 o’clock in the night, the miscreants climbed the 13 feet high wall with the help of a towel and a rope and entered the wardrobe room.
Seema woke up after hearing the sound. He tried to raise noise, but the miscreants hit him several times on his head and face with an iron rod, leaving him bleeding. Hearing the daughter’s scream, father Umesh Chandra reached there. During this, the miscreants hit him more than 25 times on his head with rods. Despite being injured, the elderly businessman continued fighting with the miscreants for about an hour.
During this time, the businessman’s wife Shanti Devi was also attacked by miscreants with sticks and rods. As soon as all three fell unconscious, the miscreants ran away with goods worth lakhs after searching the cupboard. According to doctors, Umesh Chandra got 50 stitches on his head and his wife Shanti Devi got 40 stitches in the attack.
As soon as information about the incident was received, DCP East Dr. Deeksha Sharma and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Amol Murkut reached the spot with heavy police force. The family members allege that despite the post being just two kilometers away, the police arrived half an hour after the information was given.
DCP has taken major action after negligence came to light in this matter. Inspector Nagendra Kumar and lady constable Divya, posted as nighter officers, have been suspended with immediate effect. Investigation revealed that the woman constable had received information from the PRV, but she did not immediately alert the other team.
DCP Deeksha Sharma said that a case has been registered on the complaint of the victim’s family. Several police teams have been formed to arrest the miscreants. Nearby CCTV footage is being scrutinized. The accused will be arrested soon.
