40 लाख की नौकरी या पहाड़ों का सुकून? IITian की पोस्ट पर छिड़ी बहस – iitian on 40 lakh job vs mountain life linkedin post goes viral tstf
Is a high salary and the glamor of a big city a guarantee of a happy life? A LinkedIn post by IIT Kanpur alumnus Arjav Modi has sparked a new debate on this question on social media. Leaving the hi-fi life of Bengaluru, Arjav, who has been living in a small hill town for the last four months, says that changing the place not only changes the address, but also changes the way of thinking.
In his post, Arjav Modi compared the lives of two 27 year old youth. The first youth lives in Bengaluru. He has a 3BHK flat, a job worth around Rs 40 lakh per year, goes to office by Uber every day and orders household items from apps like Zepto. This life seems no less than a dream.
But Arjav says that there is another aspect to this lifestyle also. He wrote that in such an environment one starts comparing oneself with others every day. People who achieve great success are seen around the age of 21-22 years. Then one realizes that perhaps the best years of life have passed. Gradually this comparison starts turning into loneliness, stress and self-doubt.
Changed perspective by living in the mountains
Arjav told that for the last four months he has been living in a small hill town. Their earnings here are much less than in Bengaluru. He often goes to the market on a scooter or on foot and spends time with his partner amidst the beautiful views of the evening.
According to him, after living here he realized that the pace of life is slower, but people are more relaxed. There are people around him in the age group of 30-35 years, who are happy with their work and life. Looking at them it seems that the race of life is not over, but good days may still be ahead.
‘I am not talking about leaving the city, I am talking about leaving the comparison’
Arjav also made it clear in his post that his aim is not to advise people to go and settle in the mountains. He says that the real problem is not the city, but the constant comparison.
He wrote that whenever you feel that you are lagging behind others, think about those people who achieved great success at the age of 35 or 40. social media And the media often shows stories of people who create companies worth crores at the age of 20, but there is less discussion about people who live a balanced and happy life with their families.
Debate broke out on social media
After Arjav’s post went viral, people also expressed their opinions. One user wrote that I have also spent 10 years in the mountains. Those were the most beautiful years of my life. Another user said that happiness does not lie in any city or village, but in the feeling of satisfaction and gratitude.
Another user wrote that if we keep comparing ourselves all the time, then no place in the world can keep us happy.
Arjav’s post has once again brought into discussion the question with which today’s youth are struggling the most – is success determined only by a big salary and a big city, or are mental peace, relationships and a balanced life equally important?
