A shocking incident has come to light from Surat in Gujarat. In Uttaran area of the city, a husband attacked his estranged wife in the middle of the road. It is alleged that he first blocked the woman’s path with his car, then allegedly tried to run over her and then brutally beat her by kicking and punching her by holding her hair. The entire incident was captured in the CCTV camera installed there, the video of which is becoming increasingly viral on social media.
Actually, the incident took place on July 11 in front of Pragati IT Park located on Uttaran-Mota Varachha Road. According to the police, the victim was going in her Activa, when her husband Pravin Amarshibhai Golakiya, who arrived from the front with a car, stopped her car. After this the accused got down from the car and allegedly started abusing the woman.
It is being told that the anger of the accused increased further when the woman protested. According to CCTV footage, he pulled his wife by her hair on a public road and beat her with kicks and punches. During this time, the people present at the spot tried to intervene, but the accused continued assaulting the woman for a long time.

During the fight, there was chaos on the road and a traffic jam was created. People present around the incident site tried to stop the accused. Meanwhile, a female police officer of the traffic police on duty also reached the spot and intervened.

It is alleged that after the fight, the accused threatened to kill the woman and fled from the spot with his car. After this, the victim directly reached Uttaran police station and lodged a complaint against the accused husband.
Seeing the seriousness of the matter, Uttaran police station became active immediately. Police Inspector H.R. A special team was formed under the leadership of Goswami and with the help of informers as well as modern surveillance, the search for the accused was started.
Arrested within few hours, case registered under various sections
Within a few hours of the incident, the police arrested the accused Pravinbhai Amarshibhai Golakiya (46). accused Surat Does business of tours and travels. He lives in Amroli area and is originally a resident of Sundaniyana village of Ranpur taluka of Botad district of Gujarat.
Uttaran police has registered a case against the accused under various sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) 2023. These include voluntarily causing hurt, obscene abuse in a public place, criminal intimidation and other related sections. The police is interrogating the accused and is preparing to present him in the court.
Uttaran Police Inspector H.R. Goswami told that there is a domestic dispute going on between the husband and wife for a long time and the matter is pending in the court. Both of them have two daughters, one of whom lives with her mother and the other with her father. He said that the accused in the road assault case has been arrested and further legal action is underway. Police has made it clear that strict action will be taken against those who play with the safety of women.
