UP News: A two-storey clothing shop built over a drain collapsed in Subhash Bazar area of ​​Agra. In this incident, a woman went missing after falling into the drain and four other people were injured.

District Magistrate Manish Bansal said that this shop located in Mantola Police Station area suddenly collapsed and its debris fell into the drain.

Bansal said, “Four people have been injured. A woman also fell into the drain along with the debris and is still missing. Rescue operations are going on.”

He said that teams of fire brigade, municipal corporation and other agencies are engaged in search and rescue work. Initial indications suggest that the shop may have collapsed due to the recent rains, although the actual reason is not yet known.

Market Committee official Inder Kumar Magnani identified the injured as shop owner Tola Ram (71), Krishna (25), Lala Bhai (48) and a girl. The missing woman was identified as Ganga Devi (55).

Magnani alleged that the shop was in a dilapidated condition and permission was sought from the Municipal Corporation for repair work, but it was not granted.

He also claimed that many other shops in the market were in a similar unsafe condition and needed immediate repairs.
