“Hello Honorable Chief Minister, my name is Dr. Hira Rashid and I feel extremely proud to say that today I have come to meet you by flying from the same land on which my father used to grow food.” These emotional and proud words belong to Hera Rashid, a young doctor resident of Jewar area, who reached Lucknow on Monday through the first passenger flight that started from Noida International Airport.
Noida About 170 villagers, whose land was taken for the development of the international airport, boarded the first passenger flight from the newly opened airport on Monday and reached Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s official residence. Dr. Hera Rashid was the center of attraction among these passengers, who described her air trip to Lucknow as “a dream come true”.
NEET exam conducted without coaching
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath During a conversation with Dr. Hira Rashid shared the story of her struggle and the development in the area. Dr. Hera said, “There was a time when there was no internet in our area and no good study facilities. Buses to go to school were also not available properly. But as our area developed, progress increased and facilities came. On the basis of these facilities, I cracked the NEET 2021 exam without any coaching.”
Dr. Hira Rashid gave full credit for this unprecedented development to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh. Thanking CM Yogi, she said, “All this has been possible only because of you, so I am very thankful to you and want you to remain as the Prime Minister in the future.”
CM Yogi welcomed the farmers of Jewar at home
After the commencement of passenger service at Noida International Airport on Monday morning, all the villagers will board the launch-day flight. The Chief Minister thanked these farmers for being a part of this historic journey and contributing to development. During the conversation, the farmers said that their years-old dream of traveling by air has been fulfilled today and this experience is ‘never to be forgotten’ for them.
According to Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh, about 99 percent of the farmers traveling in this flight were such who had never sat in an airplane before in their life. He said, “The farmers who cultivated this land with their hard work and left it for the development of the country are today flying from this place. This is the biggest symbol of trust, participation and progress.” The passengers also included several elderly farmers and 28 women from villages in Jewar area of Gautam Buddha Nagar district.

Other villagers who enjoyed the air journey also expressed their sentiments. Farmer Dharamvir Sharma said, “It is a matter of pride to have a world-class international airport in our village area. The government has put farmers wearing slippers on board the aircraft, which proves that the benefits of development can reach the last man.”
Poonam, whose land was acquired for the airport, thanked the Chief Minister for boarding the airplane for the first time and said this initiative has increased the respect of farmers.
Farmer Haji Zafar said that the government had taken full consent of the farmers during the land acquisition process and everyone had given the land of their own free will. He praised government schemes reaching the people without any discrimination.
A farmer named Iqbal Kallu said that losing land for the airport has now become a part of a larger development journey, because the farmers were not just given compensation and were released, but were made stakeholders in this project.
Female passengers Suman and Meenu also looked very emotional. Meenu said that after the construction of the airport, she saw her land from the sky for the first time, and this experience is beyond words.
The elders said- never seen such a period of development
Jaiveer, an elderly farmer who donated 40 bighas of his land for the airport project, said that he has seen many governments in his life, but has never seen such a period of development. At the same time, another 65-year-old elderly farmer, who had given 30 bighas of land for the project, expressed happiness on seeing the area changing like this. Farmer Jaikaran Singh expressed confidence that this airport will create new opportunities for the coming generations.
In this high-level meeting held in Lucknow, the Chief Minister was accompanied by his advisor Avnish Kumar Awasthi, Minister of State Suresh Kumar Khanna, Additional Chief Secretary (Civil Aviation) Deepak Kumar, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) CEO Rakesh Singh and representatives of IndiGo and Noida International Airport. The onboard airline crew of IndiGo also made a special announcement inside the flight, in which the contribution of farmers in building this grand airport of the country was saluted.
Noida International Airport will be expanded to 5 runways
Additional Chief Secretary (Civil Aviation) Deepak Kumar said that this first flight has turned a long-cherished dream into reality. It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation of this project on November 25, 2021 and inaugurated it on March 28 this year.
Presently this airport is fully operational with one runway and an annual passenger capacity of 1.2 crore, which is planned to be expanded to 5 runways with a capacity of 22.5 crore passengers annually in the future. With the opening of this airport, western Uttar Pradesh And connectivity in the National Capital Region (NCR) will be strengthened and economic activities will get a huge boost.
