According to the police, after receiving confirmed information about illegal sale and transfer of a newborn, the Child Welfare Department had started an official investigation into the entire matter. During this period, many important facts came to light, after which a complaint was lodged at Kulsumpura Police Station in Hyderabad on June 9. There is mention of a childless couple.
According to the complaint, the couple was deprived of the happiness of children for about 18 years. Was looking for a child for adoption. During this time, he came in contact with some middlemen, who assured him of getting him a newborn baby. Investigation revealed that the child was born on May 28 in a private hospital located in Tukkuguda. The newborn was a boy.
He was born with physical disability since birth. During the investigation it also came to light that the child’s biological parents had agreed to hand him over to a female middleman. This woman is said to be a relative of the child’s biological father. After this the middlemen arranged the entire deal. The newborn was delivered to the couple.
According to the police, Rs 1.7 lakh was paid in exchange for handing over the child to the childless couple. This amount was given under the mutual agreement between both the parties. However, officials say that this entire transaction and transfer of the child was done completely illegally. The rules related to the adoption process were not followed.
The child was transferred from one family to another without following any legal procedure. After getting information about this matter, the officials took immediate action. The police safely rescued the 12-day-old newborn boy. After rescue, the child has been admitted to ‘Shishu Vihar’, where he is being taken care of.
