Fire breaks out in empty coach of train at Hyderabad’s Nampally station

New Delhi: An empty coach of Hyderabad-Jaipur special train caught fire at Nampally railway station in Hyderabad on Friday evening, South Central Railway said. The incident occurred while the rake was being placed on the platform ahead of its scheduled departure, it added. According to officials, the fire was noticed around 6:45 a.m., about an hour before the scheduled departure of the train at 7:50 a.m. There were no casualties as there were no passengers inside the affected coach at the time of the incident. Railway personnel and emergency response team rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control within a few minutes. The affected coaches were later separated from the rakes to prevent the fire from spreading further. Authorities are assessing the extent of the damage and investigating the cause of the fire. There were no immediate reports of any major disruption to train services at the station. The Hyderabad-Jaipur special train was preparing to depart when the incident took place.
