Lanka Premier League Director Samantha Dodanwela while welcoming the new owners said that Jaffna Kings have made a strong mark in the league and the new owners have clear thinking regarding cricket and youth development. 
On this deal, Manjot Kalra said that Jaffna Kings has its own strong cricket identity and huge fan following, this is an opportunity for them to give a new direction to the team by combining cricket experience, sports content and community building.

Manjot Kalra scored an unbeaten century against Australia in the 2018 Under-19 World Cup final. Thanks to that innings, India won the record fourth title. After this, he made his professional cricket debut for Delhi in 2019, but his career could not progress much.
