Uttar Pradesh News: An incident came to light in Qutubsher police station area of Saharanpur which raised a big question on the safety of elderly people living alone. Taking advantage of the trust, her acquaintance Hardeep alias Deepa conspired to steal 75-year-old Veena Banga’s house in a filmy style. The accused reached home at around 8 pm with milk and food items, like he had come many times before. The elderly woman drank the milk without any doubt, but the milk was laced with intoxicants. Within some time the woman became unconscious and then the whole game of theft started.
When the woman regained consciousness in the morning, she was stunned to see the scene at home. The locks of the cupboard were open, cash was missing, four gold bangles and even the neck chain had been taken off.
Not only this, the accused tampered with the CCTV cameras installed in the house and also took away Wi-Fi devices to destroy the evidence. Police investigation revealed that it was not a single thief but a whole gang, who used to commit thefts by intoxicating people.
On the instructions of the SSP, Qutubsher police station laid a trap and caught the four vicious accused. In the arrest made from the pond bank of Dabni graveyard, the police recovered yellow metal ingots, chain-locket, cash, mobile phone, fake number plate and a stolen scooter.
The long criminal history of the main accused Hardeep alias Deepa has also come to light, on which Uttarakhand, Haryana and Saharanpur Many cases of theft, robbery and other serious cases are registered in the state. The police have now started investigating the rest of the gang’s network and old incidents as well. The incident has become a topic of discussion in the area.
