Joseph congratulated Vijay on his assumption of charge Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu His party, the Tamilga Vetri Kazhagam, won over 100 seats in the 234-member state assembly, after giving a stellar performance in its electoral debut.Congress leader Rahul Gandhi hailed the Vijay-led TVK government in Tamil Nadu as “a new generation, a new voice, a new imagination”.He posted on X: “Tamil Nadu has chosen. My best wishes to Thiru Vijay – May he fulfill the hopes of the people of Tamil Nadu.”Meanwhile, Rahul also attended the swearing-in ceremony Thalapathi Vijay At the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai.The Vijay-led TVK Bahini emerged as a major disruptor in the state assembly elections, breaking the 50-year-old duality of the traditional Dravidian forces, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. However, TVK slipped to a majority, after which the Congress joined the alliance and extended its five MLAs’ support to Vijay, while breaking ties with the erstwhile ruling DMK led by MK Stalin, a move seen as a major blow to the Bharat bloc.
