West Bengal: Bomb attack near RG Kar victim’s home | India News
KOLKATA: Five BJP workers sustained splinter injuries after bike-borne miscreants hurled a bomb at them near the Panihati home of RG Kar rape victim late on Wednesday night. Police have arrested three people on the basis of CCTV footage. The victim’s mother, who contested and won from the Panihati assembly seat on a BJP ticket, condemned the attack. “Many people who actively participated in my poll campaign were among the injured,” he told TOI. In Howrah, two BJP minority cell workers and a pedestrian were seriously injured after several bombs were hurled at a victory rally on Thursday. Their condition is said to be critical. The police said that the arrested have been produced in the local court. They suspect it is the result of prior enmity. In another case, Somnath Dhar, a BJP leader from Baranagar constituency was stabbed and his family attacked near his home. At Basirhat in North 24 Parganas, BJP’s Rohit Roy was shot dead during clashes between TMC and BJP late on Wednesday night.
