New Delhi: Delhi High Court Justice Swarana Kant Sharma on Tuesday recused herself from hearing the Congress MP Karti ChidambaramApplication seeking quashing of a criminal case CBI Against him, citing “total delay” of almost two decades.The CBI alleged that Chidambaram had helped an alcoholic beverage company to ban the duty-free sale of its whiskey. Posting the matter on July 21, Justice Sharma said it should be listed before another bench.The same bench had recently refused to recuse itself from hearing matters involving Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia in the Delhi liquor policy case. They sought Justice Sharma’s withdrawal citing conflict of interest.Karti argued that the case pertains to the period 2004-2010 but the FIR was filed in 2025.
