New Delhi: Cracks in between Aam Aadmi Party Raghav Chadha led a major exodus that saw a big boost on Friday, with seven AAP MPs joining the Bharatiya Janata Party. However, out of the party’s total of 10 MPs, only three members are AAP and Arvind Kejriwalits concern.The severe setback significantly weakened AAP, leaving it with its leader Sanjay Singh in the House along with two others – ND Gupta and Balbir Singh Sichewal.
Rajya Sabha leader Sanjay Singh has firmly aligned himself with Kejriwal’s brand of politics during this crisis, lashing out at his now-estranged colleagues and calling them “traitors”.Singh said, “Operation Lotus is being carried out on the Punjab government… ED and CBI are being used to run this Operation Lotus… People of Punjab will never forget these ‘traitors’…”Raghav Chadha led the push which dealt a significant blow to the party’s strength in Parliament. The party is now down to just three members in the Rajya Sabha, taking its total strength in Parliament, including Lok Sabha members, to six.Sanjay Singh, also the party spokesperson, has been a strong voice for AAP in Parliament. ND Gupta, a chartered accountant, is an octogenarian leader who has long been associated with Kejriwal’s politics.Sant Balbir Singh Sichewal, an environmentalist and Sikh leader from Punjab represents AAP in the Rajya Sabha.
