So you think you can keep an eye on us? Every person you have inducted into the BJP was brought in after checking their family background, and officers are appointed using the same criteria,” he said.Extending her speech, Mamata asserted that the BJP cannot defeat her party. “Remember this — you don’t have the power to defeat us. We fight injustice; we fight for our rights. I was born in Bengal and will breathe my last here. If we win Bengal, I will fight in Delhi and unite all the opposition parties. I don’t want power; I want total dissolution of BJP in Delhi. Even though their defeat in Bengal is certain,” he said, “BJP must be removed from Delhi in my words.Mamata was addressing a rally in Chowrangi constituency, which along with other constituencies in Kolkata will go to polls in the second phase on April 29. He campaigned for TMC candidate and two-time MLA Naina Banerjee, who is contesting against BJP’s Santosh Pathak.Chowrangi remains its stronghold Trinamool Congress Since coming to power in 2011. The seat was dominated by the Congress until former MLA Subrata Mukherjee joined the TMC in 2001. Before the practice of state limitation, the seat was known as Chowrangi seat.A high voter turnout of 91.83 percent was recorded in the first phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections held on Thursday. Counting of votes is scheduled on May 4.
