NEW DELHI: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday stressed India’s firm commitment to safe and uninterrupted transit of maritime shipping, saying attacks on merchant shipping were totally unacceptable.The minister raised India’s concerns regarding merchant shipping disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, while attending a meeting convened by Japan to discuss supply chain disruptions in the energy market.“Global growth demands that energy markets do not contract. As a major energy consumer, India will work with like-minded partners to develop supply chain resilience,” Jaishankar said in a post on X.He was participating in the Asia Zero Emission Community Plus Online Summit on Energy Resilience convened by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.
