Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections: Udayanidhi Stalin starts campaigning in Mannarguri

New Delhi: Tamil Nadu’s deputy chief minister on Sunday kicked off his election campaign in the Mannargudi assembly seat in Tiruvarur district, supporting DMK candidate TRB Raja, as the party intensified its campaign ahead of the Tamil Nadu assembly elections.Addressing a rally during the campaign, Udayanidhi Stalin attacked unnamed critics, saying, “Some say I am not originally from the Delta region. But today I say I am a real Delta person. The truth is, they are not real Delhiites.”He also framed the election contest as a political battle between rival blocs and criticized the AIADMK, saying, “This election is between the Delhi party and the Tamil Nadu party. Our leader is the captain, and we will win. The AIADMK-led NDA alliance is a slave party. The NEET exam was implemented during the AIADMK regime under his leadership. He (Edappadi Palaniswami) has failed to raise his voice for the welfare of Tamil Nadu. He is under the central government.”Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin continued his election campaign in Paramakudi area under Kolathur constituency and interacted with the public during his morning walk. He alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party was trying to enter Tamil Nadu through the AIADMK, saying, “The truth is that the BJP is entering Tamil Nadu in the guise of the AIADMK.”Stalin also visited a roadside tea stall and later met members of the weaving community, which formed a significant population in the region.Udayanidhi Stalin, during an earlier campaign in Manachanallur on Saturday, reiterated welfare promises including financial assistance for women, expansion of housing under the Kalaina Housing Scheme and educational assistance for students, news agency ANI reported. The Tamil Nadu Assembly elections will be held in a single phase on April 23, with counting scheduled on May 4.
