Army team leaves for Egypt for Joint Special Forces exercise

New Delhi: An Indian Army contingent has left for Egypt to take part in the fourth edition of the India-Egypt joint special forces exercise – Cyclone-IV – conducted in Anshas from April 9-17.The exercise follows the continuation of growing military cooperation between the two countries and the successful conduct of previous editions in India. According to a statement, the Indian contingent, comprising 25 personnel from the Special Forces unit, will train with their Egyptian counterparts in a realistic operational environment.The exercise aims to enhance joint mission planning capabilities and improve interoperability by exchanging best practices in special operations. Participating troops will undergo a series of training programs focusing on special operational techniques, tactics and procedures in desert and semi-desert, it said.
