New Delhi: Defense Minister Dr Rajnath Singh On Monday laid foundation stone of new infrastructure at Army Hospital (Research & Referral) Ophthalmology, Oncology and Joint Replacement Center and Base Hospital, Delhi Cantonment.Speaking at the 262nd Army Medical Corps Rising Day celebrations, Rajnath said, “Military medical services within the country and neighboring countries have emerged as a strong testament to India’s soft power.” Encouraging the Army Medical Corps, he said, “Innovation, capacity building and integration of advanced technologies are essential to meet emerging military medicine challenges.”The state-of-the-art facilities (research and referral) at the Army Hospital will aim to significantly enhance the tertiary care capacity of the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS), particularly in advanced eye care, cancer treatment and complex joint replacement surgery, while new infrastructure is being developed at the base hospital to create an additional 998 crisis response capacity.
