New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched a broadside against the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata BanerjeeClaims that TMC The government is hell-bent on conducting a “funeral” of law and order in the state.Addressing a public meeting in West Bengal’s Cooch Behar, the Prime Minister said that a large number of people here in Cooch Behar have made it clear that “the time of the Trinamool Congress is over”.“No matter how much TMC goons scare you on polling day, you must have faith in the law. In this election, fear will be banished from Bengal. BJP’s resounding victory will instill confidence. I assure you, after this election, their (TMC’s) sins will be fully accounted for. How it will be dealt with one by one law. Maybe, this time there will be justice.” Prime Minister Modi said“On the one hand you have the fear of Trinamool, on the other you have trust in the BJP. On the one hand you have the fear of money cuts and corruption by the Trinamool and on the other hand the trust of the BJP which can accelerate development. Hence, our government enacted a law for 33% reservation for women in Lok Sabha and State Assemblies. Efforts are now being made to ensure that sisters across the country, including West Bengal, benefit from the 2029 Lok Sabha elections,” he said.“Hence, the government has scheduled a special session of Parliament on April 16, 17 and 18. This right of our mothers and sisters has been hanging for 40 years. No more delay is okay. From Cooch Behar, I am once again assuring all the states in the country that the states which have done a good job in population control will not face any loss in terms of seats. Everyone will benefit. The participation of all States and the rights of all shall be protected. We want to stamp this strongly in Parliament: Additional seats for women should be increased so that states can get bigger benefits from it,” he added.PM Modi also alleged that the TMC government does not consider any constitutional institution to be significant.“Democracy is being bled every day on the holy soil of Bengal under the brutal TMC administration,” the Prime Minister asserted.The situation here is so bad that the Supreme Court had to intervene, with PM Modi saying that the TMC is hell-bent on “killing law and order”.The remarks came days after protesters surrounded seven judicial officials, including three women, for several hours inside the Kaliachak-2 Block Development Office in Malda district, alleging deletion of names from the voter list during the SIR exercise.West Bengal will go to polls in two phases on April 23 and 29 and counting will take place on May 4.
