New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah Parliament described the passage of the Public Trust Bill, 2026 as a “giant step” towards increasing ease of living and ease of doing business in India. In a post on X late Thursday, the home minister said, “By reducing several legal provisions, it makes life easier for everyone and business easier making Modiji’s New India vision a grand reality.” Parliament on Thursday passed the Public Trust (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2026, which amends 784 provisions in 79 Central Acts to criminalize and rationalize petty offenses to improve the business environment and prevent harassment of people.
