A government spokesperson said that unidentified terrorists suspected to be associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)/The Resistance Front (TRF) forced their way into the residence of Mohammad Razak at Kunda in Thanamandi, Rajouri on April 22, 2024 and fired indiscriminately and killed him. Razzaq’s brother, Tahir Khurshid alias Tahir Fauzi, a Territorial Army jawan, was injured in the attack.
Investigation revealed that Sabar Hussain, a resident of Khabalwali in Poonch district, provided shelter, food and logistical support to three LeT/TRF terrorists involved in terrorist killings at his seasonal hut in Chamar between late June and early July, 2024. “Primarily, an offense under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act has been established against the accused,” the spokesperson said.
Razzak’s father, Mohammad Akbar, who worked in the social welfare department, was also killed by terrorists in the same village 20 years ago, on March 13, 2004. Razzak was given a job in the same department on compassionate ground by the government.
