New Delhi: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Thursday unveiled the party’s manifesto for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections, outlining promises across 11 key sectors, including governance, identity and healthcare.The manifesto was released at an election rally attended by Assam Congress president Gaurav Gogoi and other senior leaders, PTI reported.According to the group, the document contains 11 proposals covering governance, identity, healthcare, infrastructure development, industrialisation, agriculture, rural and urban development, climate change and a “secure Assam”.The release comes days after the Congress announced its “Five Guarantees” during party chief Mallikarjun Kharg’s March 29 visit.Polling for the 126-member Assam Assembly is scheduled on April 9, with counting to take place on May 4. The release of the manifesto marks an important step in the party’s campaign to try to consolidate support ahead of single-phase elections in the state, which has been out of power for a decade.
