New Delhi: A terrorist was killed in an overnight encounter with security forces Jammu and KashmirIts Ganderbal district, the army said Wednesday.Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Arhama area of ​​the district on Tuesday night after receiving inputs about suspicious movements, news agency PTI reported.“Based on specific intelligence inputs, the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a joint search operation in Arhama, a general area of ​​Ganderbal,” Srinagar-based China Corps said in a post on X.According to the Army, alert troops noticed suspicious activity during the operation. “When challenged, the terrorists opened fire and their own troops retaliated,” it said.The army added that the cordon was tactically reconstituted amid occasional shelling, and troops responded in a coordinated manner, killing one terrorist. Officials said that the anti-terror operation is still going on in the area.
