'Waved at his friends, blew kisses': Livestream of 22-year-old's last moments before suicide

New Delhi: A 22-year-old man in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district committed suicide after streaming his last moments on Instagram, police said on Saturday. The incident, which unfolded late Friday night, has raised concerns about the role of social media in such tragedies, with a 14-minute video of the act circulating online.According to officials, the incident took place under Dehat police station limits. Station House Officer Vikas Yadav said the man, identified as Manoj Razak, had gone live on Instagram shortly before taking the extreme step. “During the live chat he waved at his friends and blew kisses before hanging himself with a noose tied to the ceiling fan,” Yadav told PTI.Rajak, who worked as a plumber, also sold clothes he made from his rented house. He lived alone after his father remarried after his mother’s death. Friends and acquaintances described him as calm and well-mannered.One of her friends, Shubham Razak, said they immediately rushed to her room after noticing the disturbing scenes on Instagram around 10.30 pm. But by the time they arrived, he was dead.Police said no suicide note was found at the spot. The body has been sent for post-mortem and later handed over to the family. Officials have seized Razak’s mobile phone and are examining his social media activity as part of the investigation.
