“Several MPs, including Rahul Gandhi, were seen eating tea and biscuits sitting on the steps of Parliament in a manner that was completely distasteful to the members of the country’s highest legislature. Parliament’s actions said in an open letter supported by 204 signatories.
They alleged that Rahul’s move inside the Parliament complex showed deliberate contempt for the chair and contempt for parliamentary authority. “It shows arrogance and an attitude of entitlement,” they added.
They said that Speaker Om Birla had issued a clear directive against demonstration or demonstration in Parliament premises but the opposition led by Rahul ignored the directive.
“Rahul must apologize to the nation for this behavior and introspect the attitude it has created, so as to preserve the solemnity, authority and institutional sanctity of Parliament,” they said.
