The legal dispute regarding the property of late actress Sridevi is once again in the headlines. Film producer Boney Kapoor and his daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor have approached the Madras High Court in this matter. According to the report of Live Law, this entire matter is related to a property of Sridevi located on East Coast Road, Chennai. A person has made a claim regarding this property and under this he had filed a petition in the district court of Chengalpattu. Hearing the case, Additional District Judge, Chengalpattu, rejected the appeal of the Kapoor family seeking dismissal of the petition at the initial stage. Boney Kapoor and his daughters have now challenged this decision of the lower court in the Madras High Court. He says that this suit is not legally sustainable and should be dismissed. The Kapoor family argues that all the rights and documents related to the property are in their favor, hence such claims are baseless. At the same time, the petitioner claims that he also has some rights regarding the property, which require legal investigation. On this basis he has filed a case in the court. Now the final decision on this entire controversy will be clear only after the hearing in the High Court. This matter is also considered important because it is directly related to Sridevi’s legacy. Since his death, news regarding his properties and rights has been coming out from time to time. At present, this petition is awaiting hearing in the Madras High Court. Now it has to be seen what stand the court takes in this matter and whether the Kapoor family gets relief or not.
