The 98th Oscar Awards Ceremony will be held tomorrow i.e. March 16 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. It will be telecast from 4:30 am Indian time. This year, no Indian film has received an Oscar nomination, although two documentary films of Indian-origin filmmaker Geeta Gandbhir have received Oscar nominations.

Priyanka Chopra is going to present the Oscar Award once again after 2016. She is the only Indian to become a presenter twice.

American film Sinners has received the maximum 16 nominations in the 98th Academy Awards. With this, this film has become the film receiving the most nominations in the history of Oscar. Earlier this record was held by All About Eve (1950), Titanic (1997) and La La Land (2016), which received a total of 14 nominations.

A new category has been added to the 98th Oscar Awards. From this year onwards, Oscar will also be given for Best Casting, whereas till now this category was not included in the Oscars. After the arrival of this category, Mehboob Khan’s film Mother India was sent for Oscar in 1957. This became the first film to go to Oscar. After this, ‘Salaam Bombay’ in 1989, ‘Lagaan’ in 2003 and Marathi film ‘Shwaas’ in 2004 got the final nomination, but none of these films could win the award.

India missed out on winning the Oscar in the Best Film category, but till now 9 Indians have won the Oscar. Bhanu Athaiya is the first Indian to win an Oscar. Whereas AR Rahman is the only Indian who has received 2 Oscars. He received the Best Original Score and Best Original Song awards for the song Jai Ho from the 2008 film Slumdog Millionaire.

Marlon Brando had received the Best Actor Award for the 1954 film ‘On the Waterfront’, which was stolen from his home.

After some time, the same award was gifted to ‘Titanic’ actor Leonardo DiCaprio by American financier Joe Low. Joe Lo had invested money in Leonardo’s film ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’.

When Joe Lo was investigated for fraud and his assets were confiscated, Leonardo had to return the award to the authorities. Joe Lo told the officials that he had bought this award in an auction for 6 lakh dollars (Rs 5.2 crore).

52 Oscar trophies were found in the garbage heap

20 days before the Oscar Awards 2000, a truck filled with 55 trophies was stolen. New trophies were hastily made for the ceremony. A few days later, a man found 52 trophies in a garbage heap.

After giving information to the academy, that person got a reward of 5 thousand dollars. One of the remaining 3 trophies was found in the drug raid, but the remaining 2 trophies are still missing. All the trophies recovered were destroyed.
