New Delhi: Jayalalithaa’s long-time aide has been expelled from O AIADMK, VK Sasikala On Friday announced the name of its new political party — All India Purachi Thalaivar Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam — and said its symbol would be a “coconut grove”, as the political field heats up in election-bound Tamil Nadu, where multiple stakeholders are eyeing their fate.He said the party symbol represented “unity” and the organization would work like a “joint family”. Sasikala also said that the party will field candidates in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the upcoming assembly elections. “I am in the same situation as our leader (MG Ramachandran), who once joined a party started by a cadre,” he said, referring to his decision to associate himself with a party started by one of his supporters.He unfurled the party flag at Kamuthi in Ramanathapuram district on the birth anniversary of former AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa. The flag bears black, white and red colors with the portraits of former chief ministers CN Annadurai, MG Ramachandran (MGR) and Jayalalithaa in the centre.Sasikala will now enter a tough competition on the political battlefield with her own brigade, which already has several veterans including her former party colleagues.
