Kareena Kapoor's Take on Work-Life Balance

These days, there is a heated debate in Bollywood regarding actress Deepika Padukone’s demand for 8-hour work shift. Now Kareena Kapoor Khan has also given her reaction on this issue. Kareena said that any artiste should have the freedom to decide the terms and conditions of work as per his needs, especially when he is also fulfilling the responsibilities of family and children.

While talking to The Hollywood Reporter India, Kareena Kapoor said that balance between work and personal life is very important in the film industry. There is nothing wrong if an actress wants to work limited hours to spend time with her children. He said that such conditions are acceptable only if they are clearly communicated to the producers and the team before the start of the film.

Referring to her experience, Kareena said that she had to do a lot of planning during the shooting of the film ‘The Buckingham Murders’. Being the mother of two children, she had to return home from time to time. In such a situation, the team decided the schedule in such a way that when she went home, the remaining scenes were shot and after returning, she would complete the shooting again.

Actually, Deepika Padukone had reportedly set a condition of 8-hour shift for shooting films. According to reports, for this reason she was out of director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film ‘Spirit’. Since then, a debate has erupted in Bollywood regarding working hours and work-life balance.

Many stars have given their opinion on this controversy. Some actors believe that working for long hours is normal in the film industry, while many celebs are supporting Deepika’s decision and linking it to the need to balance between work and family.

Kareena says that there should be flexibility in the industry and artists should be given the right to decide their work according to their circumstances. According to him, with clear communication and proper planning, both career and family can be balanced.
