Changing the release date of South Superstar Yash’s much-awaited film ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups’ has created a new box office clash in Bollywood. Earlier this film was scheduled to release in March, but now its new release date has been fixed as June 4, 2026. Due to this change, now the film is going to compete directly with Varun Dhawan’s film ‘Hai Jawaani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’, which has created a stir in the industry.

Actually, earlier the release of ‘Toxic’ was scheduled on 19 March 2026 and Ranveer Singh’s film ‘Dhurandhar 2’ was also going to be released on the same day. Trade experts were believing that the coming together of two big films could prove to be harmful at the box office. For this reason, the makers of Toxic decided to extend the release date.
It was told that due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East, it was decided to postpone the release of the film. The makers wanted the film to be released in a better environment in the global market. Therefore, the new release date was fixed in June instead of March.

However, this decision gave rise to a new clash. Now ‘Toxic’ will be released on June 4, while Varun Dhawan’s romantic-comedy film ‘Hai Jawaani To Ishq Hona Hai’ is also going to hit the theaters at the same time. The film was already locked for release around this date, so its makers are said to be unhappy with this sudden clash.
‘Hai Jawaani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ is being directed by David Dhawan and along with Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde will also be seen in important roles. The film is said to be a light-hearted romantic comedy, which has been made keeping in mind the family audience.
According to the reports of Bollywood Hungama, the team of Varun Dhawan’s film was not aware of this clash before. It was told that they came to know about the new release date of ‘Toxic’ when Yash announced it on social media. This is the reason why the producer and director of the film are said to be angry with this situation.

The makers of ‘Toxic’ claim that they had already informed the team of the second film about the possible clash and had also discussed it, so that there is no dispute of any kind. According to him, this entire process was done in a transparent manner.
Trade experts believe that this could be an interesting contest at the box office. On one side is Yash’s big budget action-drama film, which has pan-India appeal, while on the other side is Varun Dhawan’s romantic comedy, which targets youth and family audiences. In such a situation, the business of both the films can affect each other.
Now it remains to be seen whether the makers of any film change the release date or whether the audience will get to see a big box office contest between Yash and Varun Dhawan in June 2026.
