‘Question raised on Akshaye Khanna’s role in Dhurandhar: Shobha De said – the character and dance moves were exaggerated in the promotion.

Writer-columnist Shobha De questioned the hype surrounding Akshay Khanna’s role in the film Dhurandhar. In a podcast he said that his role and dance moves have been exaggerated. Shobha De shared her opinion about the film in the Rediff Originals podcast, saying, “I felt the way the atmosphere was created was a bit manipulative. It was made as if Akshay Khanna was a bigger star than Ranveer and he took over the entire film on his own. His dance was also presented in a special way. Although the dance was really amazing and went viral, the way it was promoted seemed like a deliberate strategy.” At the same time, when Hrithik Roshan’s statement regarding the film ‘Dhurandhar’ was mentioned in the podcast, in which he had said that he liked the film, but he does not agree with its politics, Shobhaa De gave her reaction on it. He said that no one had asked Hrithik whether he agreed with the politics of the film or not. According to him, it was his own choice that he commented on this aspect. Shobhaa De said in a light tone that if he wanted, he could have just said that he liked the film. It was not necessary to give opinion on politics. What did Hrithik say about the film? Let us tell you that after watching the film, Hrithik had written on Instagram that he liked the storytelling of the film. He had said that he did not agree with the politics of the film, but as a student of cinema, he learned a lot from it. Hrithik wrote, “I love cinema. I like people who get completely immersed in the story. Dhurandhar is an example of this. I liked the way it told the story. I don’t agree with its politics. Still, it can’t be ignored.” However, a few hours later he posted again on X and Instagram. He praised director Aditya Dhar and actor Ranveer Singh. He wrote that the film is still playing in his mind. The film Dhurandhar was released on 5 December. In this, Ranveer Singh played an Indian spy. Apart from Ranveer, the film also featured Akshay Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and R Madhavan. The film did a business of more than Rs 1300 crore worldwide.
