Rail Minister urges startups, innovators to join ‘Rail Tech Portal’ for transformative solutions | India News

Union Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnab, has invited startups and innovators to collaborate with the government through the ‘Rail Tech Portal’ to solve tough problems with technology within Indian Railways. Speaking at the DNPA conclave on Thursday, the minister described the portal as the primary “digital way of getting solutions”. He encouraged anyone interested in solving problems to contribute to the platform.

New Delhi: Union Minister of Railways, Ashwini VaishnavIndian Railways has invited startups and innovators to collaborate with the government through the ‘Rail Tech Portal’ to solve tough technology challenges within the Indian Railways. Speaking at the DNPA conclave on Thursday, the minister described the portal as the primary “digital way of getting solutions”. He encouraged anyone interested in solving problems to contribute to the platform.The minister invited the startup and innovator community to join the digital framework of the portal.“I would like to urge startups, innovators and all those interested in solving tough technology problems across the country to join the Rail Tech Portal. Rail Tech Portal is the digital way to get solutions. Any problem you think is worth your attention. We will be very happy to consider it as a part of Rail Tech Portal.”The minister further explained that the initiative is built on a specific vision of inclusive innovation to drive national achievement.“The Prime Minister’s vision at the start of this Rail Tech Portal is that when science meets scale, when innovation is inclusive, when technology drives transformation, great achievements are the foundation. So, with this vision, this Rail Tech Portal will move forward”At the same event, Vaishnav also spoke about the responsibility of technology platforms regarding the Internet and the rights of content creators.The minister said platforms must wake up to their role in protecting society.“I would urge that platforms must wake up, understand the importance of strengthening trust in the institutions that human society has built over thousands of years. Platforms must take responsibility for the content they host,” he said.“Children’s Online Safety, All Citizens’ Online Safety, Platforms’ Responsibility.” Failure to adhere to these principles will make them liable because the nature of the Internet has changed now,” he added.Talking about a fair revenue system for content creators, Vaishnav said, “I would request all platforms to reconsider their revenue-sharing policies as this is also a major concern that the entire society is raising today. If it is not done voluntarily, there are many countries that have led the way to do it through legal means.”
