'Shirtless' protest at AI summit: Youth Congress chief Uday Bhanu Chib arrested

New Delhi: Delhi Police arrested Indian Youth Congress (IYC) national president Uday Bhanu Chib in connection with a protest held at Bharat Mandap on 20 February.Sources said Chib was questioned on Monday before being formally arrested. His arrest brought the total number of arrests in this case to eight.On Monday, three more were arrested and identified as Jitendra Yadav, Raja Gujar and Bimal Ajay Kumar. Yadav, a resident of Gwalior, serves as the National Coordinator of IYC. Gujjar is the Gwalior district president of the IYC, while Kumar is an office-bearer in Bhind. Four other accused were arrested earlier.The incident took place around 12.30 pm during a high-level summit in the halls hosting the AI ​​Impact Expo.According to the police, the protesters completed the mandatory online registration process and entered the venue using the QR code. They were wearing sweaters and jackets over T-shirts.Police said the group staged a shirtless protest inside the exhibition hall, chanting slogans and displaying politically charged messages on their T-shirts, including slogans directed against the Prime Minister. A video of the incident shows protesters removing their outer layers after entering the venue and revealing T-shirts with anti-PM messages. They were later seen carrying T-shirts and chanting slogans before being taken away.Videos circulating online show security personnel and some participants pushing protesters out of the hall.
