A day after an armed intruder was shot dead after breaking into the security area of the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, US President Donald Trump said he is not sure how long he will stay. Trump said, “I don’t know how long I’ll last. There’s a lot of people shooting at me, right?”

Suspect identified…
Authorities have identified the intruder as 21-year-old Austin Tucker Martin of North Carolina. US Secret Service agents said that Martin entered through the North Gate of the Palm Beach Estate at around 1:30 in the morning (local time). Two Secret Service agents and a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputy confronted him. Officials said he had a shotgun and a petrol canister.
Palm Beach County Sheriff Rick Bradshaw said officers ordered him to put his belongings down. “He put the gas can down, raised the shotgun to fire position. Then the agents and deputies fired their weapons to eliminate the threat,” Bradshaw said.
Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said Martin was reported missing by his family a few days earlier. Investigators believe he traveled from North Carolina to Florida and acquired the shotgun along the way. Authorities said a gun case was later found in his vehicle. Trump was not on the spot at that time.
