When she became pregnant twice, she along with her in-laws gave her medicine. When she became pregnant for the third time, she gave birth to a daughter at her maternal home. Meanwhile, the husband married his girlfriend and said that he can marry four times.
Fed up with the harassment by her husband and in-laws, the victim doctor has complained to the Kanpur Police. The police have registered a case under 13 sections against the husband and in-laws. The victim says that her in-laws are people with political influence. She is crying and demanding justice from CM Yogi.
The victim doctor is a resident of Chakeri, Kanpur. The victim says that her relationship was fixed with a young man from Sambhal through a marriage site. The marriage took place on 23 March 2022 with the consent of the family. My father had spent around Rs 50 lakh on the wedding. My husband’s family is politically influential in Sambhal. They called our family carefully and got married in the guest house.
In-laws kept all the jewelery
When she went to her in-laws’ house after marriage, she also took jewelery and valuables with her. There the in-laws took away all the jewelery saying that thefts are rampant here. Therefore we will keep them in a safe place. On the first night of marriage, the husband said that he was in love with a woman living in Mohalla Deepa Sarai. I wanted to live with her, but I and my family married you for dowry. But your father gave only Rs 15 lakh in cash, whereas we wanted Rs 25 lakh.
The husband said that if you do not give 10 lakh cash, I will divorce you. You will have to live here as a maid. The husband said that before you I had had physical relations with many girls. I was stunned to hear these things. After this the husband started beating her every day.
When she became pregnant twice, her husband and in-laws mixed some medicines in her food. During this period his health deteriorated and the infection spread. When she became pregnant for the third time, her maternal home came to Kanpur. While returning from her in-laws’ house, her husband had removed all the jewellery. Gave birth to a daughter in the nursing home here. If she had stayed there, they would have got her aborted. Informed the in-laws about the birth of the daughter, but no one came to see.
During this time it came to light that the husband had remarried his girlfriend in Sambhal itself. Its photo was also found. When told about this at the parents’ house, the father called some people and talked to the in-laws. Now the victim doctor has lodged a complaint at Chakeri police station in Kanpur. On the orders of Police Commissioner Raghuveer Lal, a case has been registered against the husband and in-laws.
Husband’s brother-in-law accused of molestation
In this complaint, the victim has also accused her husband’s brother-in-law of molesting her and doing obscene acts by entering the room. The doctor alleges that the police have not arrested anyone yet. I am troubled. I am staying at my parents’ house with my daughter. My father is also getting mentally disturbed seeing my condition. Regarding this matter, ADCP Shiva Singh says that on the complaint of the woman, a report has been registered against the husband and his family members. Investigation is being done. After this strict action will be taken.
