Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave several important instructions to the officials during the law-order and administrative review meeting on Sunday. The Chief Minister announced that now weekly Chaupal will be organized at every development block level of the state, where the complaints of the general public will be resolved on the spot. In the meeting held through video conferencing, the Chief Minister said that cases like revenue disputes, domestic violence, illegal recovery and police complaints not being registered at the local level should be resolved on priority basis.
Also, eligible people deprived of government schemes will be provided benefits through these Chaupals. The Chief Minister clearly said that any kind of negligence will not be tolerated in the complaints received on the IGRS portal and the Chief Minister Helpline. He directed the officials that mere formal relief would not be enough, but the victim should get real relief. Regarding the upcoming Ganga Dussehra and Bakrid, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to take special vigilance.
Animal sacrifice not allowed in public places
He clearly said that animal sacrifice will not be allowed in public places on Bakrid and there will be a complete ban on sacrifice of banned animals. Sacrifice can be performed only at pre-determined places and no new tradition will be promoted. The Chief Minister also directed that Namaz should be offered only at traditional places and permission to offer Namaz by blocking roads should not be given under any circumstances. He said that proper arrangement for disposal of remains after sacrifice should be ensured in every district. There will be a ban on sale of meat in the open and strict action will be taken against illegal slaughterhouses.
He said that even in legal slaughter houses, animals should not be kept more than the prescribed capacity. Instructions were also given to pay special attention to electricity, cleanliness and security arrangements during festivals. Flag marches before festivals in sensitive areas and constant police patrolling around religious places were asked to be ensured. While talking to officials of sensitive districts like Aligarh, Bijnor, Saharanpur, Rampur and Sambhal, the Chief Minister directed to study the incidents of previous years and prepare a list of possible miscreants and take preventive action if necessary.
The Chief Minister also stressed on maintaining constant communication with peace committees at police station, tehsil and district level. Reviewing the preparations for Ganga Dussehra, the Chief Minister gave instructions to ensure cleaning of ghats, barricading, ambulance, shady arrangements and parking management in various districts including Prayagraj, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Chitrakoot, Hapur, Muzaffarnagar and Amroha. He said that in view of the scorching heat, the safety and convenience of the devotees should be the top priority. In the meeting, the Chief Minister also took a strict stand against road safety and illegal mining.
Special task force to stop illegal mining
He directed to set up a special task force to run a campaign against vehicles without number plates and to stop illegal mining. Giving instructions to intensify action against land mafia, the Chief Minister said that the legitimate rights of any person should not be affected. He also gave instructions to make immediate appointment in the districts where the post of Chief Medical Officer is vacant. During the meeting, the Chief Secretary informed that so far 12 lakh manuscripts have been identified in the state under ‘Gyan Bharatam Mission’. The Director General of Police informed the Chief Minister about the police preparations for the upcoming festivals and examinations.
