There was talk of development in Gorakhpur among projects worth Rs 1055 crore, but the real discussion was gathered by a viral video. In fact, a lion statue made of tires was the center of attraction at the venue. When Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath came to get photographed in front of that statue, MP Ravi Kishan standing nearby started giving him directions in his filmy style. He said – Maharaj ji, a little here… yes, now take a low angle… the face of the lion should be visible. On hearing this, the people present around could not stop laughing. The Chief Minister himself also smiled.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Said that if the intention is clear and the intention is strong, then it does not take long to change the destiny. Explaining this with the example of Gorakhpur, he said that the change that the city has seen in the last nine years is the result of this thinking. He said that development does not come just by making plans, but the commitment to implement them on the ground is equally important. The Chief Minister said that Gorakhpur has today moved in a direction where it once seemed difficult to go. This change did not come suddenly, but is the result of continuous efforts and a clear vision.

Journey from garbage to eco park

Referring to Ekla Dam in his speech, the Chief Minister remembered the old days. He said that there was a time when people were faced with heaps of garbage as soon as they entered Gorakhpur. Bad smell and filth had become the identity of the city. But today the same place has been converted into an attractive eco park. He told that earlier garbage was also dumped at the Transport Nagar place, which was later developed and converted into a market. After construction of Transport Nagar, garbage started being dumped on Ekla Dam, which had a serious impact on the environment. Its impact on air pollution, water pollution and land quality became visible. A fine was also imposed by the National Green Tribunal (NGT). The Chief Minister said that when this problem was taken seriously and work was done in the right direction, the result is visible. Today a beautiful and useful eco park exists there.

CM Yogi finds diamonds in garbage: Ravikishan

MP in the program Ravi Kishan Praising the Chief Minister, he also said that his thinking is different. He said, Yogi ji finds diamonds even in the garbage. Even where nothing is visible, we find possibilities. Giving the example of Ekla Dam, he said that where earlier there were gutters and filth, now employment opportunities are being created. Film shooting can also take place here in future, which will benefit the local youth.

Changed picture of Gorakhpur

The Chief Minister said that Gorakhpur has made remarkable progress in every field. Changes are clearly visible in every sector like roads, health, education, sports, industry and employment. He told that earlier there were not enough facilities for sports, now many mini stadiums have been built. An international level stadium is also being built in Gorakhpur rural area. In health services, AIIMS and BRD Medical College have given a new identity to the city. In the field of education, the presence of four universities has made Gorakhpur an educational hub. Apart from this, revival of fertilizer factory and establishment of sugar mill in Pipraich have created new employment opportunities.

Steps towards smart and safe cities

In his address, the Chief Minister also emphasized on the concept of smart city and safe city. He said that as per the vision of the Prime Minister, all the municipal corporations of the state are working in this direction. In Gorakhpur, works like construction of smart roads, green belt and mini afforestation, solid waste management and beautification of parks are being done rapidly. He said that special attention is being given to covering open drains and better drainage system, so that the city can become clean and safe.

Effort to make cleanliness a mass movement

‘Clean Schools Campaign’ was also launched during the programme. The Chief Minister said that more than one lakh school children will be included under this campaign. There is a plan to take the message of cleanliness to every home through children. They will be made aware about ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’. Apart from this, this campaign will also be expanded through Waste to Art, Essay and Reels competitions. Thousands of teachers and parents will also participate in this, so that it can be given the form of a mass movement.

Political taunt also came to the fore

Politics also became active on this entire incident. Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav commented sarcastically on social media. He sarcastically said about the ‘fake lion’ that the picture could change if the real lion comes forward. He also made a comparison while mentioning the Lion Safari of Etawah. He wrote that if you see the real smile along with the ‘fake lion’ then you will be shocked. It seems that he is a lion of the Corona period, that is why his hair and mane are so long. If we had to make a lion then we would have made it as per rules and for this we would have seen the Lion Safari of Etawah built in Sapkal.
