Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Wadding has claimed that former CM Channi will meet Bhupesh Baghel in the next day or two. He said that Baghel has held meetings with the chairmen of different committees of the Congress. He is yet to meet the chairmen of only two committees. Raja Wading said that election campaign committee chairman Charanjit Singh Channi and core committee chief Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa will meet Baghel in the next day or two.
He said that Channi Bhupesh Baghel He had already been informed that he would be out for a day or two. On the other hand, leaders close to Channi have also maintained distance from Baghel who is holding frequent meetings. Bharat Bhushan Ashu, who is counted among Channi’s close associates, has also not met Baghel. It is noteworthy that Bhupesh Baghel had reached Chandigarh on July 6 on a five-day visit to Punjab. Punjab Congress President Raja Wadding and Pratap Singh Bajwa had reached the airport to welcome him.

As soon as CM Baghel reached Chandigarh, he had a closed-door meeting with Pratap Singh Bajwa. Meanwhile, on Tuesday morning, Baghel met Punjab Congress Working President Rajkumar Verka over breakfast. After the meeting with Baghel, Rajkumar Verka had come to meet former CM Channi. This is being seen as an attempt by the Congress leadership to increase dialogue with the leaders of the disgruntled Channi-led faction. Pratap Singh Bajwa has claimed that all differences will be resolved.

Pratap Singh Bajwa also said that no matter what grievance one has, one should not cross the Lakshman Rekha. He claimed that the people of Punjab want change and Congress is the only option. If we remain united, the public will expect from us. Bajwa said that as far as the post is concerned, it can be decided after the elections if the government is formed. If you do not live up to the expectations of the public, you will have to sit in the opposition. There is nothing wrong in having ambitions, but one should not take such steps which become a topic of discussion.
