In his first statement after the signing of the proposed US-Iran deal, Mojtaba told the Iranian people on Thursday that he had initially opposed the deal ‘in principle’, but later approved it after receiving assurances from President Massoud Pezeshkian and members of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council that the interests of the country and the ‘Resistance Front’ would be protected.
