This elderly woman from Tamil Nadu, South India, belongs to a big business family. After losing her husband and both sons, she has dedicated her entire life to the devotion of God and public service. This elderly woman reached Kashi with utmost simplicity, had darshan and worship of Baba Vishwanath and then Varanasi Divisional Commissioner S. Met Rajalingam and handed him a check of Rs 3.5 crore.

The woman has distributed this huge donation amount in a very thoughtful manner, so that food is provided to the needy and Baba’s service continues. An amount of ₹2 crore has been given directly for Baba Vishwanath’s offerings (temple development works). Whereas ₹ 1 crore has been given for food donation. Under this, Rs 50 lakh each have been secured in the names of both the sons, so that free food can be provided to the devotees in the food area of the temple for the next one year.
Apart from this, he has made a special arrangement of Rs 25-25 thousand every year for organizing Rudrabhishek puja every year for the next 25 years in the name of his two sons.
Offerings increased after construction of grand corridor
After the construction of the grand corridor of Srikashi Vishwanath Dham, there has been an unprecedented increase in the number of devotees coming here and the offerings. Along with common devotees from India and abroad, big industrialists are also continuously donating here. Recently, Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani had also presented a check of Rs 1 crore as donation in Baba’s court.
