The security arrangements of 11 major religious and historical places of Bihar have now changed. The state government has handed over the responsibility of security of these important sites to Bihar Military Police (BSAP). The Home Department has issued a new notification in this regard. Under this, BSAP personnel will handle security at many big places including Mahavir Temple, Vishnupad Temple, Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib.
Under the new arrangement, BSAP has been given the responsibility of security of these sites with immediate effect. The government says that this step has been taken to further strengthen the protection of historical heritage along with places associated with religious faith. Officers above the rank of Havildar posted in the security system have also been given special powers, so that swift action can be taken in any situation.
Big sites included from Mahavir Temple to Nalanda
Among the 11 places where BSAP will take responsibility, Bihar Many famous religious places are included. With this decision, the security of the most important campuses of the state will become stronger than before. Punauradham Temple of Sitamarhi, Bagahi Dham, Buddha Relic Stupa of Vaishali, Hariharnath Temple of Sonpur, Vishnupad Temple of Gaya along with Takht Harmandir Sahib of Patna will now be with BSAP. Apart from these, the security cordon of the famous Mahavir Temple complex located at Patna Junction will also be tightened much more than before.
Along with the religious places, the responsibility of protecting the valuable historical heritage of the state will also now rest with the BSAP soldiers. Vishwa Shanti Stupa of Rajgir, ancient ruins of Nalanda University, remains of Vikramshila located in Bhagalpur and Shershah Suri Tomb of Sasaram have been added to this new list. There is huge pressure of tourism in all these places, keeping this step in mind.
Every year a large number of devotees and tourists reach these places in Bihar. In such a situation, constant attention has been paid to the security of these places. After the new arrangement, efforts will be made to improve the deployment, monitoring and management of security forces at these sites. With this decision of the state government, there will be a change in the security system of historical heritage along with major religious centers of Bihar. BSAP will now take over the responsibility of security of these 11 important places.
