प्रिया, रुचि, कृष्णा… सपा की 3 महिला सांसदों की अपने ही विधायकों से चल रही अदावत! – samajwadi party women MPs and mlas political fight priya saroj ruchi veera krishna patel ntcpkb
Samajwadi Party has been facing exile from power in the politics of Uttar Pradesh for a decade. Akhilesh Yadav is trying his best to return to power in the state, but internal strife and factionalism in the party may spoil his hopes. Due to the political rift in SP before the Assembly elections, Akhilesh Yadav had to remove Kamal Akhtar from the post of Chief Whip of the Assembly.
Due to the political enmity that broke out between Moradabad Lok Sabha MP Ruchi Veera and Kamal Akhtar. Akhilesh Yadav Had to take action. This is not the first case between SP MP and MLA, but in UP, the figure of three SP women MPs is thirty-six with the MLA of their own party in their own area.
Akhilesh Yadav Amidst the election excitement in UP, on one hand, SP is making a strategy to return to power on the basis of ‘PDA’ (Backward, Dalit, Minority) formula, but at the grassroots level, mutual ambitions and factionalism of SP MPs and MLAs can spoil the well-planned game of the party.
Checkmate between Priya Saroj and Ragini Sonkar
There is a political tussle between two young and dynamic women leaders of SP in Machhilishahr seat of Jaunpur. The political enmity between Machli City’s SP MP Priya Saroj and local MLA Dr. Ragini Sonkar is not hidden from anyone. Both these women leaders are considered close to SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav, but being from the same area has fueled the war of supremacy between the two.
Priya Saroj is the daughter of veteran SP leader Tufani Saroj and has been elected MP from Machli City seat in 2024. Ragini Sonkar was elected MLA from Machhilishahr seat in 2022 and she wanted to contest elections in 2024, but the party had given the ticket to Priya Saroj. Since then, their relationship is well known and they do not lose the opportunity to target each other. Not only this, neither do they share the stage with each other nor do they invite each other to their respective programs.
Ragini Sonkar had said in an interview that if she got a chance or the party wanted, she would like to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Machhilshahr seat in future. On this, Priya Saroj has retorted and said that Machhilishahr is her birthplace and workplace and she will not leave it for anyone.
This fight is not limited only to the Lok Sabha elections, but behind it is the chessboard of 2027 assembly elections. It is believed that Priya Saroj’s father Toofani Saroj wants his son Dhananjay Saroj to contest from Machhilishahr Sadar seat in the 2027 assembly elections. Ragini Sonkar understands this very well, due to which she is strengthening her political base by staking her claim for Lok Sabha.
Ruchi Veera and Kamal Akhtar’s feud
There is a political enmity between Moradabad’s current SP MP Ruchi Veera and Kamal Akhtar, MLA from Kanth assembly seat of the district since 2024. Ruchi Veera is considered close to SP leader Azam Khan. The political enmity between Azam Khan and Kamal Akhtar is not hidden from anyone. Due to this, even Ruchi Veera and Kamal Akhtar do not get along. Kamal Akhtar neither invites Ruchi Veera in his program nor does Ruchi Veera invite Kamal Akhtar in his program.
On June 25, Kamal Akhtar had organized a PDA Chaupal program in Moradabad, in which Ruchi Veera was not invited. Not only this, there was no photo of Ruchi Veera in the banner of the program, due to which Ruchi Veera made it a political issue. When this news reached Akhilesh Yadav, he called both the leaders to Lucknow. In the presence of Akhilesh, an altercation started between the two leaders and they accused each other of factionalism.
Being close to Azam Khan, Akhilesh Yadav along with Ruchi Veera asked Kamal Akhtar to resign from the post of Chief Whip of SP in the Assembly. Kamal Akhtar resigned from his post, but his political enmity with Ruchi Veera still continues. The reason behind this is to establish their own dominance over the politics of Moradabad, due to which the party has divided into two groups.
Dispute between SP MP and MLA in Bundelkhand
SP, which performed well in Bundelkhand during the last Lok Sabha elections and won three seats, seems to be embroiled in internal strife even before the 2027 assembly elections. Due to factionalism, SP President Akhilesh Yadav dissolved the District Executive of Banda on May 12. Now, a heated argument took place at a program last week between Banda-Chitrakoot SP MP Krishna Patel and SP MLA from Baberu Vishambhar Singh Yadav.
The video of ‘Tu-Tu Main-Main’ between MP Krishna Devi Patel and MLA Vishambar Singh Yadav went viral on social media. In the viral video, MP Krishna Patel is seen accusing the MLA of non-cooperation and insult. In response to this, MLA Vishambhar Singh Yadav was seen advising him to remain polite. MP Krishna Patel also said from the stage that she has complained about this matter to party president Akhilesh Yadav.
Krishna Patel, District President Dr. Madhusudan Kushwaha, National General Secretary, former MP Vishambhar Prasad Nishad and all small and big leaders of the party participated in the press conference. The MP’s husband had talked about party people defaming him and falsely accusing him of being involved in illegal mining. Since then the war between MP and MLA is going on. In Chitrakoot, there is internal rift between District President Shivshankar Singh Patel and Sadar MLA Anil Pradhan. The group of former District President Anuj Patel is also different. Due to this, there is a war for political supremacy going on.
