Let us tell you that to pass the 131st Constitutional Amendment Bill related to women’s reservation, two-thirds majority was required in the Lok Sabha, but this bill fell 54 votes short of the required figure. A total of 528 votes were cast on this bill. According to the voting figures, the government needed 352 votes to pass this Constitution Amendment Bill, but only 298 votes were cast in its favor.
After this bill failed in Parliament, women MPs of BJP protested at Makar Dwar. The party has now announced a nationwide protest regarding this from April 18.
