‘नोएडा एयरपोर्ट से टिकट IGI के मुकाबले महंगा…’, जेवर विधायक ने उठाया ज्यादा UDF का मुद्दा – noida international airport ticket price high udf jewar mla dhirendra singh igi ntc bktw

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the much-awaited Noida International Airport in Jewar, Noida on March 28. After the PM’s gift, the time for resumption of flights is now nearing. Indigo has announced to start flights to Lucknow from June 15. The sale of tickets for this has also started. As soon as the sale of tickets has started, a new controversy has arisen regarding fares. Thakur Dhirendra Singh, MLA from Jewar assembly seat, has expressed concern over expensive tickets.

jewelry The MLA has written a letter to the Central and Uttar Pradesh governments stating that the proposed User Development Fee (UDF) and other passenger charges at the airport are high. In his letter, he has demanded the central and state governments to re-evaluate these charges. Jewar MLA has presented shocking comparative figures in his letter. He has written that according to the schedule released by Indigo on May 7, 2026, the flight fare between Lucknow and Jewar from June 15 is being shown as approximately Rs 5072.

Thakur Dhirendra Singh has said that on the contrary, the fare from Lucknow to Delhi (IGI) airport during the same period is only between Rs 3600 to Rs 4300. He said in a questioning tone that if Jewar Airport If the fare remains higher than that of Delhi, it will seriously affect the competitiveness of this ambitious project. Dhirendra Singh has also mentioned in his letter the difference in the tax rate imposed on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

He has said that in UP the tax on ATF is only one percent, whereas in Delhi it is about 25%. Despite such low tax on fuel, high ticket rates are against the interests of passengers. While raising the issue of connectivity in the letter, the Jewar MLA has written that at present Jewar Airport lacks multi-modal connectivity like metro or rapid rail. He said that passengers would already have to spend extra time and money to reach here, so there is no basis for a high UDF.

The Jewar MLA has demanded the central and state governments to review the UDF and other passenger charges. He has said that if the fare is not reduced in the initial phase itself, it will not only be a burden on the passengers but can also have a negative impact on the airline operations.
