It was Monday night. A 10-year-old girl was sleeping with her parents, two sisters and a brother on the footpath near CDR Chowk in Mehrauli area of Delhi. This family lived there on the footpath.
At that time a driver came there whose name is said to be Bablu. He was drunk and waiting for a ride. He saw that the girl was sleeping on the footpath with her family. After this he forcibly picked up the girl and tried to put her in his car.
During this time the girl woke up and started screaming. Hearing the noise, the girl’s father ran behind the car. But by then the accused had fled from the car with the girl. The father immediately informed the police by calling PCR.
As soon as the call was received, Mehrauli police reached the spot. The police started checking the surrounding CCTV footage. It was clearly visible in the footage that the accused was taking the girl away. But only the shadow of the car was visible, the number of the car was not clear.
When the police checked the footage more deeply, it was found that the vehicle was standing at that place for about an hour. The vehicle reached the place where the girl was sleeping at around 4 in the morning, and the girl was picked up at around 5 o’clock.
After this the police intensified the investigation. Police sought information about that area from Rapido, Ola and Uber companies. Besides, CCTV footage of the front and back of that route was also seen. In this way the police identified the vehicle and also found out who was driving the vehicle.

Then the police tracked the accused through the GPS location of the vehicle and the location of his mobile phone. The accused was found in Vikaspuri area and was caught from there. That means, within just 4 hours of the kidnapping incident, the police arrested the accused.
When the police started interrogating the accused, he first said that he did not know anything about the girl. But when the police questioned him strictly, he started telling the truth. The accused confessed that he had killed the girl.
The accused told that after kidnapping the girl, he took her to Gurugram Faridabad Road, about 20 kilometers away. On the way, he had tied the girl inside the car so that she could not run away. After this he stopped the car at a deserted place and took the girl to the nearby forest.
There he raped the girl and strangulated her to death with a towel. After this he left the girl’s body there and went away from there.
After this, the accused took another passenger from Gurugram in his car and went to drop him at Vikaspuri. The police caught him right there.
During interrogation it was also revealed that five cases of fighting were already registered against the accused in Bihar. The wife and children of the accused live in Bihar.
Police arrested the accused on Tuesday evening crime While she was being taken to the spot, the accused tried to escape from the police. In the police encounter that followed, the accused was shot in the leg.
After this entire incident, the police is now going to issue notice to app based taxi companies. Police want to know how this driver with criminal background was driving the taxi.
