‘तबाही मचा देगा…’, ईरान से तनाव के बीच UAE के न्यूक्लियर प्लांट पर हमले को लेकर बोला PAK – uae barakah nuclear plant drone attack amid tension with iran pakistan condemns international law violation wdrk
Pakistan on Monday condemned the drone attack on the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Pakistan said that deliberate targeting of nuclear sites is a serious violation of international law and such reckless steps can be disastrous for human life. Amidst the war with America and Israel, Iran has carried out major attacks on the Gulf countries, especially the UAE, and it is believed that this attack may also be related to this.
America-iran Pakistan has become a mediator to end the war between India and Pakistan. There is a very fragile ceasefire between the two sides, which has become more fragile due to this attack. Pakistan also had to condemn the attack on UAE. In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan, it was said that Pakistan ‘stands in full solidarity with the brotherly people and government of the UAE.’
The statement said, ‘The deliberate targeting of nuclear plants is a serious violation of the basic principles of nuclear safety and security enshrined in international law, the UN Charter and the regulations and resolutions of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).’
‘Nuclear plants should not be targeted’
PakistanGiving a warning, the Foreign Ministry further said, ‘Nuclear plants should not be targeted under any circumstances. Such reckless actions are devastating to human life, environment, regional and global peace and security and can have lasting impacts.
The statement also said that the security of civilian nuclear infrastructure is an established international standard, which must be followed without exception. Pakistan appealed to all parties to exercise ‘maximum restraint’.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said, ‘All parties should fulfill their responsibilities under international law and international humanitarian law. They should avoid such steps that could further escalate tensions, the impact of which could go far beyond the region.
In the end, the ministry said that ‘dialogue and diplomacy are the only practical way to achieve lasting peace, stability and reduction of tension in the region.’
A fire broke out in UAE’s nuclear power plant
A day before this, on Sunday, there was a drone attack on an electrical generator installed outside the inner security circle of Barakah Power Plant, which caused a fire. However, radiological protection levels were not affected and no injuries were reported.
The IAEA had said that the plant’s ‘Unit-3’ was being provided electricity from an emergency diesel generator. The agency had appealed for “maximum military restraint” around any nuclear power plant and said it was closely monitoring the situation.
This attack happened at a time when America-Efforts to end the ongoing war between Israel and Iran and to restore shipping in the Gulf region seem to be in vain.
After the attack, UAE officials said that they were investigating the source of the attack. Describing it as a ‘terrorist attack’, he said that a response will be given to it. UAE has already accused Iran of attacking its energy sites.
After the attack by America and Israel on February 28, Iran is continuously targeting UAE and other Gulf countries where American military bases are present. Civilian and energy infrastructure targets have also been involved in these attacks.
Iran stepped up attacks on the UAE this month after US President Donald Trump announced a naval mission to open the Strait of Hormuz, which was postponed after 48 hours.
Due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, oil from the Gulf countries is not able to reach the rest of Asia, which has created a major oil supply crisis. Due to this, oil prices have increased. After the attack on UAE, oil prices reached $ 111 per barrel. America has also blockaded Iranian ports, which has further increased tension in the region.
What did India say?
India has also expressed concern over the targeting of UAE’s nuclear plant. On Monday, the Foreign Ministry said that this is a ‘dangerous provocation’ amid increasing tension in the Gulf region.
The Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement saying, ‘India is extremely concerned about the attack targeting UAE’s Barakah Nuclear Plant. Such actions cannot be accepted. This is a step that increases tension to dangerous levels. We appeal to all parties to exercise restraint and return to the path of dialogue and diplomacy.
