‘गुनहगार जेल में हैं, अयोध्या पर उंगली मत उठाओ’, राम मंदिर चढ़ावा चोरी पर बोले CM योगी – CM Yogi Adityanath defends Ram temple trust says dont malign Ayodhya lclam
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said the SIT probing the alleged theft of donations at the Ram temple has found evidence against only eight of the nearly 150 people involved in counting the offerings, and the entire temple trust cannot be maligned for the mistakes of a few.
He targeted Congress and Samajwadi Party and alleged that they are trying to defame Ayodhya and insult the legacy of Lord Ram over this matter.
Defending the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, the Chief Minister said that the state government had ordered an investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) only on the recommendation of the Trust.
Addressing a gathering after inaugurating projects worth over Rs 950 crore in Chitrakoot, Chief Minister Yogi said that after the matter came to light, the opposition parties suddenly became active as they had found “an issue” to target Ayodhya.
“You must have heard the recent news. Congress and Samajwadi Party suddenly became active…these are the parties which have always criticized Ayodhya, and they found an issue to exploit,” he told the gathering in Chitrakoot.
The Chief Minister said that the Trust itself had told the government that it had received information about alleged theft during counting of donations and had requested to form a high-level SIT.
He said, “We accepted the recommendation of the Trust and formed a high-level SIT. The investigation found evidence against six people directly involved in the theft, while two others were part of the conspiracy. Based on the recommendations of the SIT, the Trust lodged an FIR and action was taken.”
He said that around 150 people are involved in counting the offerings at the temple and only a few people were involved in the alleged irregularities. Every devotee of Lord Ram and every citizen of India who respects the faith should be alert about this.
Questioning the opposition’s criticism, the Chief Minister said, “When action has been taken against the accused, what is the justification for defaming the entire trust, raising questions on Ayodhya and insulting the legacy of Lord Ram? It seems that the Congress and the Samajwadi Party have taken up the contract to attack the faith of India.”
