West Bengal CID has taken over the investigation into the alleged inflammatory statements of TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee during the assembly election campaign. According to news agency PTI, a senior police officer said on Thursday.
Earlier, Bidhannagar Cyber Crime Police Station was investigating the case on the complaint of a resident of Bagaiati. He said that all the documents, digital evidence and other things related to the case collected during the initial investigation have been handed over to CID.
According to the report, a senior police officer said, “A formal order has been issued to hand over the investigation to CID. The case diary, documents and digital evidence collected so far have been handed over to the agency for further investigation.”
Why was the FIR registered?
